agree, and it's also lazy journalism to only go once, at the quietest time (lunch time). A thorough reviewer would have gone at least twice, at different times, in order to draw a full conclusion. She's gone own in my estimation.
Well, I havent eaten there myself, but have heard rumours about slow service from friends who has. Either way, when The Island serves a steak&chips to die for, the bar is set rather high... Having said that I really should try it before I pass judgement, shouldnt I.. ;-)
Slow service was definitely not something we had, but I've only been once.
The Island - I've been there to eat about five times and always loved it. But we've been the only people most of those times, which greatly concerns me.
