Harvist is open

I haven't had time to pop in yet, but I looked through the window and it looks very nice, with cakes on plates with little glass coverings (I'm sure there is a term for these). Will send a review in the next few days.

Harvist is great. Very airy, spacious and large room with a good atmosphere. Fresh cakes and pastries daily and the best coffee for miles. Jacket potatoes and sandwiches with very good fillings and in the summer the back patio may be opened up for barbeques and BYOB. I highly recommend it!

No, I'm not the owner but I wish I was! The location is great and I'm sure they will do very well and wish I had a piece of the action.

I second that... went into Harvist the other day and thought it was lush... exactly the kind of place we needed... I really hope they do well and if they had the back opened up in the summer I would certainly go!!

I was tempted to go to 'Harvist' the other day. Unfortunately they seem to constantly leave the door open, and having a small child and it being near a reasonably busy junction, I decided against it!

Looks great though!!

Have you considered asking them to close the door? They are very nice people and am sure they would accommodate you as they do not want to lose customers. Sometimes people need to be made aware of situations as they are focusing on other things.

It's great in there - the spanish omelette is delish!! Nice big tables to spread assorted ephemera out across. I don't think they have wifi (saw someone using mobile broadband in there) but perhaps this will arrive in due course. I'd be there now if it weren't closed :)

Went there before work last week & had a lovely big croissant & coffee. I loved the look of the place, and the cakes looked great, can't wait to try those out too. I

Absolutely fantastic place. We so needed this. Amazing coffee, cakes are delicious and they have fantastic savoury pieces. Atmosphere is great and the people there are amazingly welcoming! Def. Recommend it!

Visited Harvest yesterday and I have to totally agree, the place is fab, great cakes, good service and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely will be back again soon.

Also agree...visited Harvist over the weekend and everything was very nice! great vibe, yummy food, and friendly staff...I am so glad that this corner wasn't taken over by some horrid chain-cafe. definitely recommend it and will be going back often!

Nice place and nice people (staff and customers). I had cappucino and chocolate cake which was warmed up. On the expensive side, but tasty.

Does anyone know what time it opens in the morning?

It's too expensive! £3.50 for a scone is crazy!
And the windows are filthy.
Disappointed....

I would like to set the record straight about the last comment on here. I was in Harvist today and the scones are £2.20 to eat in with jam and creme fraiche and £1.60 to take away...not £3.50!
The double glazed glass was broken in the middle window of Chamberlayne Road and they are waiting for the replacement window and in the meantime they cannot wash the window because there is jagged glass on the edges! Commenting on a blog is great but do get the facts straight before you do as this can cause great distress and loss of business for the coffee shop/tea room.
Another bit of information...they have free WIFI. Just ask and they will give you the code!

i recently went to harvist and was VERY disappointed with the service. i felt... because of the way i was dressed, in tracksuits & cap, i was treated badly compared to the rest of the customers :(
