Where Wakeman Road and Pember Road (I think) meet Chamberlayne Road, the pedestrianised areas have been retiled and benches put it.
1. Aren't they ugly?
2. Why are they so close together?

It is so the drunks can pass their cans and tabs to each other smoothly.
They are really horrid, which is a shame as the new paving is really nicely done.
I think the area looks really good
The paving is fantastic
You obviously can't remember what it looked like before - Now that was UGLY !!!
I like the paving, it's the benches.
Has anyone climbed over the fence yet to sit on them?
I was pleasantly surprised when passing Pember Road to see the new paving and benches. It has certainly brightened up the area and is very innovative.
I disagree entirely - I think the paving is a vast improvement, there is space for some trees, the iron bollards are much better than the horrible swinging gate for emergency access, and rather than having some old-fashioned benches like you get outside a retirement home on Eastbourne sea front, we have some modern, stylish, solid seating that hopefully will last for years.
It looks great - vast improvement on what it used to look like and the benches look very smart. I also like what they have done with the other end of Wakeman Road. Really improves the whole appearance of the area.
They're definitely too close together.
