Sacro Cuore pizza

So we tried their takeaway service. I called up and they said 'it'll be ready in 5 minutes' which was a little quicker than I expected or even wanted but we were hungry so I decided to go along with it anyway.

A temporary website with menu is here.

The pizzas were, as hoped for, excellent. In fact really excellent. Quality and plentiful ingredients, and extremely tasty.

It was quite full although the outside terrace area was not being used.

I'm still a big fan of Primi in Queen's Park and think it gets a bit unfairly overlooked (and they deliver, which Sacro Cuore doesn't). But the pizzas here were brilliant and this is certainly a very welcome arrival in Kensal Rise.

i thought it was pretty good, nicer to sit inside than at primi. but i do think primi does better pizza.

Have not tried Primi since under new ownership. I do agree with the decor in Primi though. If it was given a bit of a makeover people would be more likely to sit in there.

We ate at Sacro during its soft launch. Thought the pizzas were nice. Bit soggy in the middle.

The tomato sauce, even though it is hailed was a little ordinary. I don't like my ham sliced so it looks like it was out of a machine. That's me being a bit unfair though.

The sausage pizza however was fabulous.

The staff were also very good.

Will definitely go again.

Very welcome addition to KR.

Primi need to at least paint the metal shutters red - and maybe landscape it a bit (olive trees etc..) to create a bit of a barrier.

Nice guys in there, and well priced

Trying Sacro Cuore this weekend...

We were really looking forward to trying Sacro Cuore, hoping for a great new local restaurant, but were very disappointed this evening. It's a nice space but the tables are really close together and the music was way too loud. Our pizza bases were extremely soggy and a little burnt and the carafe of red wine came to the table fizzing! Staff were very sweet, but we'll not be going back in a hurry. Be interested to hear what experience other people have.

We went to Sacro Cuore for its launch, the pizzas were very good, a bit soggy in the middle too, with a little bit too much of oil for my taste but still very good.

However I was very disappointed by the service, the owner did not even come to ask us if we were enjoying the meal (it was the 2nd day the restaurant was opened, so I expected a little more caring for their first customers). I have been used to a different level of service around Kensal Rise.

I guess my expectations were too high as we were waiting for this restaurant since June.

But I will definitely try their takeaway servce

I must admit, I too have been looking forward to Sacro Cuore, but have not yet been - but have seen many a mixed review (here, timeout and evening standard etc)

I will (optimistically) attribute the negatives to 'growing pains' for what is fundamentally a growing business (doubling in size over night) - as they train up their staff to the standards expected at Santa Maria.

I fully expect (and hope) that they will come good in due course

Nandos is coming to Kensal...

We've had take out and eaten in at Sacro Cuore - and have loved both experiences. Agree the music was a little loud but getting such high quality pizza in Kensal Rise is like the gods are smiling at us...

tried it long last ... and we too really really wanted to like it. a couple of problems - with only hard surfaces everywhere and nothing to absorb the noise, it is indeed very noisey. Too many bad parented kids allowed to run around and SCREAM as if they were at the playground while the parents ignore their spawn.
as for the food ... 3 of the pizza's were soggy in the middle and one calzone had ricotta inside instead of mozerella. it didnt work ... mushy and tasteless.
shame that they dont have the patio garden opened to spread out the patrons a bit more

Agreed with comments above, Primi does crispier pizza that keeps better in take away and it is signifcantly cheaper than Sacro Cuore...having said that Sacro Cuore's pizza is Napolitan wood fire oven so, if you do like softer middle, quite nice to have eating in.
