Things we noticed

So Tesco is opening Wednesday 1st July, Harvist is about to get a garden with seating and a BBQ, and it was VERY WET about 5:45 today (sat). And so dark that those fairy lights on the tree by Tesco came on.

But here's a question - what is the place between Niche and Scarlet & Violet? The door was open today and inside were a load of chairs, mirrors and tables, a bit like storeroom but more in fact like a bar/nightclub? Any ideas.

It is the Legion I think. I had a butchers in yesterday and it looked quite ecclectic in there.

Also, spoke to Gails in Portobello and they confirmed they are opening in QP in October.

Beautiful Kids has shut down.

Legion? What's that?

Yes, we gave the head's up on Barking before it opened. But we only looked in the other day - seems quite good if you like that sort of thing (we don't have pets, so not much use to use!).

Yes it was the British Legion but hasn't been open for ages.

Yes it certainly rained profusely yesterday afternoon. The rain water eventually couldn't drain away (the main drain couldn't cope - we took up the manhole cover to see it was not draining) and within minutes we could not stop the water entering our basement flat. Who is responsible??

The Victorian sewers in this area were replaced last year as homes had experienced flooding because the sewers are not large enough to cope with the rainfall during heavy storms.....so what happened last Saturday afternoon when homes once more suffered flooding because the drains couldn't cope?

Sorry to hear you were flooded. What road do you live on? The Harrow Road suffered the same fate although it wasn't as bad as it was two years ago when there was a torrential downpour for about 2 hours. I think Thames Water were supposed to be doing something about it but doesn't look like it worked!! The Kensal Triangle Residents Association might be able to help you. They meet on the first Monday of the month, upstairs at the William IV. I'm guessing next meeting is July 6th.

Station Terrace has opened. Popped in today - very expensive I thought for the area. Dresses selling at £300.

What happened to Brilliant Kids?? It is such a shame that it has closed, I really liked that place.
