Updates

Thanks for all the comments - for some reason the blogger software has stopped emailing them to me so I missed them until now. The blogging became less frequent recently for a number of reasons - I changed job to one where I can't do daytime blogging, we had our first baby (picture to come) and also I thought Park Life was rather saying it all!

So what's new? One comment on a very old post (about the Alice House opening, back in June 2010, which it now has done - any comments?) said that Miro's had closed down which is disappointing. After a run of new openings of shops, cafes and restaurants we've had a few closures in the last few months (such as the health food shop).

The London Overground seems finally to be fulfilling the promises - many more Clapham services and I think after May they'll be running through the day.

The campaign to save Kensal Rise library seems in full fight.

Finally, I've just noticed in our street the meter parking charges are rising - quite a lot - from 40p to 60p for 30 minutes.

Please keep commenting, especially if my newfound zeal shows signs of slacking again.

I will comment to keep you posting if you slack off again LOL
This is different from Park Life - more personal!
I like both and congratulations on the Baby!

The parking is another new Brent council stealth tax along with the parking permit hike about to happen

The health food shop shut due to the owner relocating to Scotland. It is under refurbishment. Looks like it will be another health food shop.

The shop on the Parade next to the grocers is also under refurbishment too.

I like this better than park life as I live in Kensal Rise and Park life cover a bigger area. This is more local, thank, keep blogging!

Another cafe. We have more cafes than hairdressers. We need a fishmongers.

Apparently the shop next to the pet (well dog grooming*) shop on Chamberlayne is being refurbished.

I'm not sure we really need another cafe - there's now the Brazilian one, the various restaurants/cafes, Harvist, the one on the bridge etc. A bar like Miros fills more of a gap, I think.

* Hasn't it done well - must be more than 18 months old now.

Overheard Harvist will be open again in two weeks time.

There is action happening in the builder's merchants storage shop. Could just be a refit.

Where's that?

Builders merchants storage shop is next to Shake It.

Really don't think we need any more cafe's / deli's down that end of KR. If anything someone should turn the old Rose News on Oakhampton into a cafe.

Definitely could do with a fishmongers but nothing too expensive.

Yes, even the David Goodman antiques shop is now a cafe

The health food shop is to be an Italian deli/restaurant. Owned by the owner of Luca.
