New health food shop

The new health food shop on Chamberlayne Road is open, but not finished. It has a good selection of health food shop stuff, and also more normal food and goods, such as rice and washing powder, all however with some 'eco' angle. The woman in the shop told us that there was more to come including chilled foods and also a juice bar (which would be takeaway only).

Certainly it beats an estate agent, and good to see more shops opening on that strip of Kensal Rise.

Does anyone have a contact number for this new health shop or know what it is going to be called? Thanks!

No but the very friendly lady inside said that if there was any product wanted her to stock then to let her know & she will see what she can do.

On a slightly different note. Anyone else noticed how expensive Miro's is?

On Sunday I bought 2 sweet potatoes, 1 Lollo Rosso lettuce, 2 small courgettes and a coffee. Came to nearly £8. Was too shocked to say anything.

Later that evening the missus noticed the lettuce had gone mouldy too.

They really need to pull their socks up in there and lower the prices.

The young lad could do with smiling a bit too.

A couple of times the vegetables I bought from Miro's have been poor quality

They are opening a health practice underneath the health food shop as the owner is a Cranial something or other and his missus is a GP.

hmm. Feel a bit bad about Miros. A decent greengrocer is much needed, but the choice and quality is not great, and the price is waaay to high,. A bot Emporer's new clothes I fear. I want him to do well, I really do, but I doubt I'll be back unless the quality and range of veg is better, and better value.

So glad to see comments from other Kensal Risers, i bought items from Miros grocers several times, and i will not be going back, except emergencies! I bought a few carrots last week and mentioned to the charmless guy working there, that they seems a little soft (as i gently waved the bendy carrot at him). "Its Organic!", he declared. £4 for 4 carrots! Same with beetroot, but i managed to knock some money off the price that time! Get cheaper, fresher and u may prevent some locals braving the trafffic to Sainsburys! U cant pull the organic wool over our eyes....

hello to all the Kensal Risers. Our health food shop, Kitchen Apothecary, has been running a little low on stock lately and that really is not our intention. Please bear with us as we are self funding and are not out to make a profit but to provide kensal rise with affordable whole foods and health products for all. We hope that we will be restocked and with bread back in a couple of weeks. Thank-you for all your support over the last few months and we hope to get back on track soon.
Please still feel free to come down for free healthcare advice and a cup of tea while we reorganise ourselves. xx Bastian & Shereen
