William IV Opening Party on Friday was fantastic !
It will definitely give the Paradise a run for its money !
We are so lucky down this end of Kensal - 3 great pubs so close

Went today to The Olive Branch for a bite to eat for a late lunch. Found the food great and the service excellent. Very friendly proprietor and good atmosphere.

Just passed the old Baker and Spice and it says 'acquired by client'. Hope something comparable comes in its place as their cheese biscuits were to die for ... miss them.

I think we thought it was going to reopen as a Gail's Patisserie but that was in April.

It is - there were some Gail's notices in the window at the weekend. Still no opening date though.

Saw that the internet cafe on the bridge has been gutted from inside. Any news of what's happening there? Not that I use it, but would be interested to know what we're getting.

I hope they do something with that. There are a a few grotty buildings similar that really let the area down. That Quint Fashions is another. It doesn't look like it has be used in years.

We now have a decent Italian in The Olive Branch, so if you was to open a business in KR what would you open/think we need?

I personally would love a quality, reasonably priced, fishmongers.

I totally agree re the fishmongers. Many many years ago we used to have one - Macfisheries, A good greengrocer too would be another option. Hope it's not another hairdresser or bookies or estate agents we have too many of those.

Yes Quint has been as is for many years and actually looks as if its just an unused lock up, have never seen anyone go in or out.

Does anyone know anything about the blank white doors close to Niche, Bawarchi and The Diner on Chamberlayne Road - I have seen bouncer-type men outside them in the past and recently saw the doors open and a kind of pub-like interior in the inside - outside is totally unmarked - is it a secret club?

It used to be the British Legion club but don't know of late if that is changed. In fact years ago they had a sign saying they were British Legion but that disappeared ages ago (I mean the sign).
